FILM OF THE SUMMER - TOMB RAIDER (Previewed)

This summer's must see movie without a doubt is Tomb Raider starring the pneumatic Angelina Jolie as the Indy Jones of the computer gaming world. This hotly anticipated and most publicised movie has Lara Croft, the movies heroine, loosely following the storyline of the first game. Although the film was in production for some time, the casting of Jolie as the lead could not have been better for Paramount as she scooped the Oscar for best supporting actress last year.

This movie will send Jolie into the stratosphere of stardom so you'd better brace yourself for a ridiculous amount of merchandise, with an Angelina look-alike Lara doll already available in the shops, girls, expect your boyfriend to want one. Let's face it, it's the closest he's ever gonna get!

Boobs and bazookas aside, this looks like a humdinger of a movie. The trailer shows just enough to get you interested but doesn't, like for so many other Hollywood action flicks, show you all the best bits in the trailer, leaving you more than a little disappointed at the cinema coz you've paid your fiver and seen nothing new. The action scenes are amazing, and Jolie has really put the effort in to get the physique. Rumour has it that she underwent a bootcamp like training with the army to prepare her for the role. With this season's current military fashions, and Jolie already signed up for the sequel, prepare for the Tomb Raider phenomenon to continue!
